GET IN TOUCH
Folklore.kh.ua is a non-commercial project aimed at preserving the musical folklore of Sloboda Ukraine and Poltava Region by opening the collections of Kharkiv folklorists-collectors to the general public. The digital archive is based on the ethnographic recordings of the Regional Organizational and Methodical Center of Culture and Arts (Kharkiv), accumulated over more than 30 years of expeditions by the center's specialists, as well as private collections of Kharkiv folklorists.
The site features samples of traditional Ukrainian music from the Kharkiv, Poltava, and Sumy regions, as well as border areas of Russia—historical Eastern Slobozhanshchyna. The site’s functionality allows users to search by genre, title, place, and date of recording. Some audio files are accompanied by text and sheet music, making the archive easier to use for educational purposes.
